My First Sketch for ARCH 415 Urban Sketching - Location Selected by Instructor
My overall sketching technique is ok, but the perspective of the view is not correct.
The horizontal lines representing the window panes and the canopy over the doorway should converge toward a common vanishing point (which would be located beyond the edge of the paper). A sketch that correctly shows perspecive will be added soon.

A general note about on-site sketching:
On-site sketchers are not attempting to draw an accurate rendering of the view. If that were the goal, straight edges would be used to create lines. They would layout plans, elevations and sections to assist them in producing an accurate representation of the structure that is being drawn. Instead, the purpose of on-site sketching is to use your sketching abilities to portray the image that you are viewing as well as you can, but at the same time use creativity to make the picture interesting to look at.
